child farm working part 2

According to the video, what causes students like Joseanna to drop out of school? Student like Joseanna drop out because they live far from the school and every time they get to school they are going to be late and know one is going to help them.

How does the MET program try to keep students in school, instead of working on farms? They keep the students in school by paying them minimum wage for studying.

I think workers drop out not because they are far from school, but because they miss school to work and fall behind. If students didn't have to work on farms, or weren't allowed to (like they aren't allowed to in any other industries) this might not be such a problem.
